Wike Visits Bwari, Vows to Beef Up Security Against Bandits' Attacks

 

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Muhammad Musa Bello, on Wednesday paid a confidence-building visit to local councils in the region, reminding security agencies of future efforts to combat banditry and protect lives and property.
 He declared that he would strengthen it.
 Wike's visit comes in  the wake of a recent spate of kidnappings and killings by bandits in the region, particularly in the satellite city of Bwari,  just a few kilometers from the federal capital, Abuja.
 During a meeting at the town hall  with residents, traditional rulers, security personnel and other stakeholders in Bwari town, the minister expressed  deep concern over the security situation and urged the community to ensure that the government takes steps to address this menace.

 “Enough is enough,” Wike declared.
 “We will do  our best to prevent incidents like this from happening again.
” “We cannot  allow bandits to terrorize our communities and  our people to live in fear.
” He said he had previously convened a high-level security meeting to deal with recent attacks in  the region.

 President has empowered me  to strengthen the operations of our security agencies and provide them with everything necessary to ensure the security  of lives and property," Wike said.
 Both the Traditional Ruler of Bwari, Mr.
 Etu Bwari, and  the Hausa Chief, Mr.
 Salkin Bwari, expressed their gratitude to the Minister for his swift response to  security challenges and ensured the safety of the region.
 pledged  support for government efforts to ensure that Wike assured the community that the government will not relent in its efforts to protect lives and property and that security remains the top priority of his administration.
 He also called on residents to cooperate with security authorities by providing timely intelligence and intelligence to help prevent and respond to potential security threats.
 The Minister’s visit to Bwari will be followed by visits to other regional councils in the FCT, demonstrating the government’s commitment to addressing security concerns and ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
