APC Denies Rigging Claims, Declares PDP Doomed to Lose in 2023 Elections

The ruling party All Progressives Congress (APC) has refuted allegations by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that it plans to manipulate the 2023 general elections. The APC asserted that it, unlike the PDP, has no history of election rigging. APC National Secretary Senator John James Akpanudoedehe stated on Wednesday that the party has a "good history of implementing programs and projects that meet the demands of Nigerians" and is attracting more supporters, members, and sympathizers nationwide. He emphasized the APC's transparency, strong internal democracy, and sincerity in carrying out its activities, contrasting it with the PDP's alleged lack of these qualities. Akpanudoedehe highlighted the defections of National Assembly members, Governors, and other prominent figures from the PDP to the APC, further demonstrating the party's growing strength. He recalled the era when the APC was a victim of PDP's rigging tactics while the PDP held power. According to the APC, the Muhammadu Buhari administration has implemented electoral reforms aimed at eliminating loopholes and preventing abuse of the election process. With over 40 million registered members, the APC expressed confidence in its ability to win elections without resorting to unfair practices. The APC dismissed the PDP as disorganized and devoid of coherent leadership, incapable of succeeding in future polls. The party emphasized that the PDP had enjoyed access to national resources for 16 years but lost it after the last two general elections. The APC presented itself as a party of integrity, trustworthiness, and commitment to implementing policies that address the needs of the people and improve their well-being.
